Raising a Cool Kind Kid™ is an Award-Winning Book containing Bullying Prevention Tips for parents (and educators) to use to help their children and (students) learn how to be Cool Kind Kids®.
This little social skills and bullying prevention book was inspired by an original poem first written in December of 2001, shortly after 9/11. The poem summarizes who and what is a Cool Kind Kid®. Each stanza of the poem has been enhanced with an original illustration depicting the stanza content. Under that are statements for kids to learn so they can apply the content of the stanza to their everyday lives. On each facing page are tips for parents and/or educators to help their children or students learn and practice these important life-changing social skills lessons.
Research now supports social skills as the missing link in bullying prevention. Through this poem and the accompanying tips, kids can learn that they can be both cool and kind. They can learn how to reject being a child who bullies, a bully bystander, and a bully victim. As they embrace the positive messages of Cool Kind Kid, they learn that, “The KIND kid is the COOL kid, not the bully.”™
